Donna Mendez, Ed.D., is a Licensed Professional Counselor
“I have an extensive background in working with parents, school personnel, and youth in the following environments: counseling agencies, high schools, alternative, and special education. This widespread experience has helped me walk in the shoes of adolescents, young adults, and their families. Additionally, I have worked with numerous individuals suffering from anxiety, mood disorders, family conflicts, domestic cohesion, and personality disorders. I find the greatest successes happen when I connect with a client, and they embrace healthy support and are willing to make changes after insight is gained from our collaboration. Therapy is a growing experience with plenty of opportunities for insight.”
In addition to her Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Xavier University, Dr. Donna holds a Doctorate in Instruction and Discipline from Loyola University and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics from Northern Illinois University.
As a former high school administrator combined with being a mental health counselor, Donna has helped individuals and families navigate a wide variety of personal issues. Her multifaceted experiences provide expertise in issues such as adolescent guidance, family conflict, academic decline, disconnection, discipline, responsibility, organizational skills, improving study habits, and mental health growth. Dr. Donna is passionate about building lasting changes by helping people target the core of their problems and working through them together in an interactive, healthy, and supportive fashion.
Dr. Donna enjoys her family, her three cats, the outdoors, and watching the TV series “Friends.”
