Couples Retreat for 2025 and 2026

Want to enhance your relationship in just one weekend?

Join our Couples Therapy Retreat weekend held in Illinois and Wisconsin multiple times per year.  The cost is $750 per couple.  Additional details are listed below.

What Is A Couples Retreat?

Couples retreats help strengthen your relationship by focusing on caring, connection, and shared values. At the heart of the retreat is your love and admiration for each other, whether newly discovered or already strong. The couples therapy retreat includes six group sessions and two fun events within the 16 hours together where you’ll learn communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, and ways to deepen your connection for a healthier relationship.

Before the marriage retreat, each couple will complete an assessment. This helps us understand your relationship and dynamics and gives you a chance to reflect on your partnership.

What Topics Are Covered?

The couples retreat covers important topics like enhancing intimacy, forgiving past hurts (including affairs and trauma), and learning how to heal together. You’ll explore breaking cycles of hurt, improving communication with seven best practices, and understanding the role of self-love for both men and women.

The marriage retreat also focuses on creating a shared vision and building on values like contribution, caring, and connection. We’ll use information from your couples’ assessments to customize the program, addressing the unique dynamics of each relationship and the patterns identified before the retreat.

Marriage Retreat Testimonials

My husband and I attended a couples retreat this past April in Lake Geneva led by Wesley Dapkus. We had a wonderful experience. We were provided with many useful resources and tools both before and after the retreat. My husband and i had time to talk and connect away from the busyness of life. Wesley led us on a journey of love, self-reflection, and mostly appreciation of each other. It is up to us to continue to utilize what we were taught and to honestly work on our marriage every day. We are beyond grateful for this experience and we would highly recommend a couples retreat to others who may be interested in enhancing their relationship, or working through some marriage difficulties. Thanks again for leading us on this lifelong journey!

Jenny and Chris – Lake Geneva April 2025

The couples retreat was an incredible experience. Wes created a safe and supportive environment, allowing us to open up and work through our challenges. Most importantly, I learned how to communicate more effectively with my partner and felt truly heard for the first time in a long while. I was also able to let go of a lot of built-up resentment and anger, which felt incredibly freeing. My spouse and I had such a positive experience that we plan to make this retreat an annual event.

My fiance and I recently attended the White Oak Institute Couple’s Retreat in Starved Rock, IL hosted by therapist Wesley Dapkus. Wesley was phenomenal. He was very caring, knowledgeable and engaging. He was compassionate and made every couple feel comfortable. He truly wanted to help each couple.

The retreat was well organized and very interactive with various topics including; Seven Principles of Marriage, Tools of Active Listening, Conflict Resolution & Communication, Gender Based Values & Expectations, Intimacy, Values of Contribution, Caring & Connection, Breathing Work, and a scenic guided tour of the area, plus SO much more.

Kristin F. – Starved Rock Oct 2024

My husband and I attended the White Oak Couples Retreat in Starved Rock. Attending the couples retreat was truly a transformative experience for our marriage. Before we went, we often found ourselves stuck in the same old patterns of conflict and misunderstandings.

Wesley Dapkus gave us the tools we needed to focus on our communication skills and reignite our emotional connection. We learned practical techniques for expressing ourselves honestly without fear of judgement in a supportive setting.
