About the Program

The Anger Management Group at White Oak Institute for Growth and Wellness is designed to help individuals understand and manage their anger in healthier and more effective ways. Our program offers comprehensive strategies and techniques to empower you to better tolerate anger, resulting in increased levels of happiness in interpersonal relationships, in the professional setting, and within oneself.

Program Structure

  • Initial Assessment: A thorough evaluation to understand your unique needs and challenges.
  • Group Therapy: Twelve weekly interactive group sessions to learn about anger, anger control, the aggression cycle, coping skills, assertiveness training, conflict resolution, how socio-emotional learning impacts behaviors throughout the lifespan, and reinforcement of new concepts. Weekly classes utilize the SAMHSA Anger Management Group Treatment Model, which is uses a Cognitive-Behavioral treatment modality. The SAMHSA model has proven to result in clinically significant anger reduction across a wide span of treatment settings, regardless of demographic variables.
  • Graduation Day: The final meeting of the cohort, which includes a completion certificate and the opportunity of each member to openly discuss their individual experiences throughout the program and to reflect on their personal growth and improvements to their lives.
  • Follow-Up Support: Following program completion, members are invited to “drop in” on future cohorts’ weekly sessions as needed to receive ongoing support and resources, ensuring continued progress and success.
